Alik Rozenberg : owner of the café

"My passion for food and friendly conversations stems from the kitchen table culture of Russia, which is an epicenter of cultural life of inteligencia" says Alik Rosenberg, founder and owner of Chert Poberi Café. He is a natural born entrepreneur whose goal is to provide an open-minded experience to all who visit this distinguishable café.

Rosenberg is devoted to always improving Chert Poberi Café's current dishes and creating new ones. He enjoys finding rare and innovative recipes and encourages his chefs to experiment and develop new ideas. He also maintains close communication with local food producers; ensuring that the products are always fresh and nourishing. Rosenberg is dedicated to attracting gourmet food lovers and succeeding in the world capital of cuisine-New York City.

Growing up in a small commune apartment in Kiev, Rosenberg's family was in habit of entertaining friends and neighbors with feasting, singing, guitar playing and dancing. "Dining and hosting is in my blood," explains Rosenberg. After exploring seven majors in University life in an attempt to appease his family, Rosenberg began a career in computer networking. Thereafter, he transformed this intercommunication from computers to people. He had finally found his calling in cuisine and hospitality. He realized his dream of combining his affection for cooking, socializing and creating a warm, ambient atmosphere with the founding of Chert Poberi Café.
